PALM SPRINGS DEVELOPMENT
New Campus Development

Jtec developed a project budget and schedule for the new College of the Desert, Palm Springs Development project. This project encompasses a 325,306 SF facility on a 1.28M SF site. Buildings to be constructed include a hospitality institute including a hotel, private villa, event center/culinary building, accelerator building, campus support services, central utility plant, pedestrian sky bridge, and underground parking.

The College of the Desert is aiming to be a regional center of world-class innovation with its multidisciplinary programs, diverse community, and striking setting. Overall structures are designed and estimated to reduce waste generation by 50%, enforcing sustainable procurement and building policies.

Each building is comprised of a steel frame or reinforced concrete structure, with architectural metal and Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) panels lining the skin system.

The Jtec team provided a unique cost analysis and assisted in weekly meetings to refine per SF pricing. Plans and narratives were reviewed to identify and close gaps in scope that will reduce future risk and change orders. Jtec was also responsible for master schedule development.
