U.S. VETERANS ADMINISTRATION
Behavioral Health Clinic

Jtec HCM was the construction manager for the renovation of a 15,000 SF, LEED-certified two-story office building in downtown Oakland. The building was converted to an outpatient mental health and substance abuse clinic for Veterans.

The new facility includes a multitude of functions including: exam rooms, occupational therapy rooms, group therapy rooms, administrative offices and conference areas, a day treatment room / multipurpose room with a simulated home kitchen environment, physician offices, waiting room and secured pharmacy.

The facility also provided rooms for specialty functions and equipment for the VA police department and their homeless program.

In keeping with the original LEED accredited program and the client’s sustainability goals, the project reused existing building materials, and utilized energy-efficient light fixtures, energy-star appliances, zero VOC paints, dual-flush toilet fixtures, automatic faucets and dispensers throughout.
